And what a gorgeous day it is too, about 20 degrees and climbing at the moment so I have been pottering as well as catching up with Greys Anatomy at lunchtime - I didn't realise we were a whole series behind here and Julie let slip news from the new series in the UK so now I know what is going to happen at the end of this one so now I have to forget it!!! Ha
Saturday wasn't a complete wash out and we did go out for a quick walk up to the shops and round the area in between the showers. We discovered we have some dodgy gutters though in just two places so not too bad for such a big house. The one down the left side of the house isn't too bad but the one over the kitchen window is awful as it pours in to a little flower bed there and just makes a muddy mess everywhere as well as wetting the walls which can't be good. Rex is coming over later, the man who moved us, to have a look and suggest someone to use. He is a wonderful mind of information for this area as was one of the original people who came to live in this area in the 70's when he was a teenager when it was being developed. Let's just hope he knows a good man 'who does'!
Sunday we had a drive around to grab some apples from the local growers, 44 of them in a big bag for £2.50 which can't be bad and we are actually eating them as they are not huge things. Am going to make some apple crumble for Derek later as healthily as I can, half the sugar maybe.
We also went to a Lavender Farm here which we stumbled across last year and what a great spot it is in near Lowburn, only 5 minutes away and run by a very nice lady called Christine. All the lavenders aren't out yet but the french ones are as they are in my garden (my Hidcote ones are too). It was very peaceful there and the garden full of birds and rabbits. I bought four new ones to add to our collection.
We are looking forward to going away for a few days at Christmas up to Auckland which will be nice, chance to do lots of beachy things, just walking along the sand and paddling which sounds so good.
This was a photo from Queenstown on Friday I think. We had more snow fall on Saturday evening, the problem of living at altitude I suppose which is keeping the normal very warm Spring temperatures a little low just now. People are starting to complain about the bad Spring here so it must be a little unusual, it is only my second full one so haven't got much to go on myself but it does seem to be a bit stop start this year.
Anyway time to do the ironing (sigh!) and get something ready for dinner - I haven't forgotten the crumble. I don't like being on a diet as you just seem to spend most of the day thinking about what you have to eat all the time.
Take care of each other, keep warm and watch the Christmas ads (we don't have many of them!!) Big hugs xxxxxxx
