We've been walking most days this week as it has been so sunny and mild and still 18 degrees. Not bad for more than half way through Autumn.
So we have had a very busy week, three more viewings and big progress with the lady we have on contract to buy the house. We should know for definite on Tuesday whether or not we can officially pack our bags or not. Fingers crossed please!
We have lined up our removers and are doing most of the parking ourselves as I just prefer it that way. Lord knows I have had enough practice! And we have a month to sort out what is going or staying. We sold our dehumidifier on eBay (TradeMe in NZ) this morning and our treadmill is about to sell too. We have many items to go so just hope most of them will sell. It will go a long way towards the big removal and insurance bill!
I spoke to Lindsay opposite yesterday; Glennys is away in Wellington again helping with two of their grandchildren, and I met their new miniature poodle Lily who is adorable, black, fluffy and very cute, feisty too. As we may have problems getting a short let through June Lindsay suggested house sitting so Derek is getting on to that one! Might be fun.
Last Saturday we went to Arrowtown for the last day of the Autumn Festival and was sorry to have missed the craft and market day which was the previous Saturday!! Can't believe I messed up the dates as it is always something I really look forward to. We thought there wasn't much traffic about.
We passed our sentinel Poplar trees going out of Cromwell which are a bit later this year turning out their beautiful autumn coats.
So we doubled back and drove through the much expanded Arthurs Point and down in to Queenstown on the Gorge Road. Peter Jackson of the Hobbit and Rings fame owns the land from the Point in to Qtown on this road and has stated that the land there be held in trust to the very few people who live there in perpetuartory so that it may never be developed like the remainder of Qtown where they have run out of space to build anything else - nice of him.
Queenstown was its' normal bustling self, it is the real teenager of the region and shouts itself out loud, and so it should. It is still one of the loveliest places I have ever been to. We parked up on the Esplanade and walked in, lots of exercise today!
There is something about children and bubbles!
Time to put our feet up and carry on watching House of Cards with Kevin Spacey, wouldn't want him for President but boy is he good at being nasty!
I finished making a baby jacket and hat for Ben and Jess which I hope will keep little Evie nice and snuggly this coming winter and also finished my cushion which turned out OK.
As I said we seem to have been out a lot this week. We went to the Nose for lunch on Gordons' 90th birthday (Derek's Dad) which was so nice. Happy birthday Gordon, glad you liked the present.
By early afternoon the cloud had lifted and we ended up sat outside roasting in the sun!
So it's time to heat up the pumpkin soup I made yesterday, nothing nicer on a day like today, don't think the sun is going to appear any time soon, it is just mild and dull now though it was so nice first thing. But we haven't needed to light the fire this week, not like last week. We did get some more wood in from Joff though.
And as I am not going to blog any more about our holiday up North I thought I would just do a little slideshow of our last day there which we spent in Turangi walking along the riverbank of the Tongariro River in to town and back.
Love to you all and an especially big hug for you Mum, so hope you will be feeling much better soon. Love you xx
