After a busy weekend I decided to take it a bit easy on Monday and after Becky dropped Phoebe off in the morning, we went over to Julie and Mike's to see what they were up to. Mike is still busy renovating their house and finding lots of things to do, making lots of dust as he is going along! We wrote in it like silly school girls!
Phoebe helped Auntie Julie in the garden for a little while dead heading. Her garden as usual is blooming and looking gorgeous, she has done a fantastic job in restoring it all and has managed to bring quite a few plants from her old garden to put in this one so continuing their life and giving them a new home. She is very green fingered. Phoebe helps her Mum in their garden so was glad to help. We went for a walk around the woods and fields in the area, quite a long walk in the end and it was very hot so we were quite flushed when we got back.
We went to Haskins for lunch which was lovely, I haven't been in there since they have re-modelled it and it looks very nice, the food is great too. There is also the added bonus of a small playpark there also so Phoebe was pleased. She looked gorgeous in another new dress.
It was warm and sunny once more so we went in to Weymouth to join the crowds on the beach and prom for a few hours and to grab some lunch at the Cornish pie shop. I think they do the best pasties and pastries that I have ever tasted.
It is nice to see the old town come to life which must have been aided by the Olympics, the beaches were packed. It is also a bonus to drive through the lovely green hills of the Dorset countryside; we drive through to Wool then through the small villages to get to Weymouth, such a pretty route. Phoebe got to watch the Punch and Judy show twice which she can't remember ever having seen before, not my favourite thing but she loved it and am sure shouted louder than any of the other children! Mr Punch has a history of over 350 years which is hard to believe and Mum says she remembers it being much more violent when she was a child, suppose it is not very 'PC' these days. The children seem to love all the 'bashing' about anyway!
