So glad Derek's op wasn't this week. It went well, he was in recovery a bit longer than they thought by about 2 hours but all OK in the end and was discharged at 5.30pm so we made our way very steadily home with him wrapped up in blankets and surrounded by pillows so was quite comfortable. He has been brilliant all week, this man is very stoic. He is still quite swollen, did not want to have his jeans on today and his stitches are healing well. Now he has gone off to Tauranga via Auckland then off to Hamilton by car on Wednesday, home Thursday. Just hope he does what he was told, no lifting for a good month and taking it easy.
I've been doing a few more bags and love doing them, also finishing another quilt. I still have two to quilt that are all prepared and won't do any more now until I come back in September as I haven't time to finish them. Each one takes a month of evenings to quilt but at least I don't fall asleep in front of the tv.
Anyway, time for a belated lunch, I made a huge pan of minestrone soup yesterday so have enough to keep me going a few days.
Take care all of you, enjoy all the sun and warmth - time for me to light the fire I think!
