I have had one of those days where I don't seem to have stopped but don't seem to have achieved much either. Work was quiet yesterday after a busy start to the week but we got some more computers ordered which is the main thing.
Picked some lettuce for a salad at lunch time and to take with us tomorrow for lunch too. That's not bad going in 4 weeks is it? (we have been here 5 weeks on Friday!!). We have tons of inherited parsley and chives that have come in very useful too and I am gradually getting lots more herbs. I have sage, thyme and oregano in a half wine barrel round the other side along with mint (in a pot), rosemary and more parsley near the kitchen. So this bed with the chives in above just has bergamot, horseradish, dill and lemon balm in it just for something unusual.
There is a beautifully smelly rose that hangs over the fence on that side too which is why I keep opening the windows on that side -I think it is actually on our side, well the main trunk is but then it seems to spend most of its' time in next doors garden before piling over our fence again!
So Saturday we went to Clyde which is where the big dam is and the hydro electric power station. We've been to the dam before but not the village which we have now found is a very pretty little place full of old world charm and lots of places to eat, not a good place to be when you are on a diet and I was very good. Quick pat on the back!
We walked over the bridge to take photos downstream and also of the dam as they are letting out lots of water because of the Spring melts; lots of melted snow to get rid of. It is so nice round here at the moment as the hills are full of flowering white hawthorn, yellow gorse, purple thyme and the leaves are all that lovely acid green so it looks lush and lovely but in a month or so it will be as dry as dust and a dun colour if there is no rain so we must enjoy all these lovely colours while we can. Gosh, I sound like a garden program!!! It is pretty though.
Well I will say bye bye for now, so great to speak to some of you today, spoke to Becky, Deb, James and Donna too at the weekend and saw all our grandchildren so I would say that it has been a good week, just what the doc ordered.
Lots of love to all of you, take care of each other for us xxxxx
PS Think we are going to visit the 'Ho-Down' that they are having in Cromwell on Friday/Saturday and may even get over to Wanaka too.
