The last two weeks have been busy and I had some big orders to start the week but I have customers who want 21.5" iMacs and I can't get hold of them for love nor money, so frustrating! My loyal customer base are having to source them at the dreaded NL in Frankton!!!! GGrrrrrrr ..........
Oh well such is life :) no point being gloomy as it doesn't help.
If any of you saw this photo below on 'Facebook' the other day .......
There seems to be lots of building work going on around here at the mo and if you had the money, you can pick up some great value plots at knock down prices in the whole region - well we do work next to a big Estate Agents, Sotherbys, here so things are bound to sift through the walls etc!!!!!
Anyway, Derek is home today now instead of tomorrow (albeit there is a tropical storm causing havoc in the North Island so just hope it doesn't get down as far as the Canterbury region or his plane won't be going anywhere!! It is sunny and warm here, sorry north islanders!) so I am getting him from the airport at 3.10 so will be closing early again.
I spent the morning in the garden yesterday as it was glorious; planting out peas in the veggie patch and re-potting the tomatoes I bought the other day and just general weeding. I have been the cause of the weeds apparently, so my friend Judy tells me, as I put down horse and alpaca pooh not treated pellets like I should have done. I was being organic!!! But it wasn't so bad, just a couple of hours with the sun on my back so can't be bad really.
The afternoon turned cloudy so I did some patchwork and finished making a quilt from some material I bought in the UK while on holiday. I did 'magic squares' with sashing if that means anything to anyone - a photo will be posted when it is finished. It is only a small one, a baby quilt really in pinks, blues and creams, I just wanted to try out a new technique and am going to do another in blue with another pattern I have sourced. I find it such a nice way to spend a few hours, the planning of it it just as nice as the end result and I like to hand quilt in the evenings - it keeps me awake! I have finished my crocheted 'granny squares' in the pink wool that I also bought at home which have kept me awake through a mammoth catching up of 'Grey's Anatomy'. I do love that program and had a whole series to catch up on. Derek doesn't like it so it is a good job I have had this time to watch in peace!!
He is teaching in Dunedin next week on Monday and Tuesday so I think I may go with him this time; it's only 3 hours away and he is driving so why not. I know I will spend all day on my own but it is nice for me to explore and I know where the material and wool shops are there now - they have a 'Spotlight'!
Anyway it looks like the cold and frosty mornings have gone for a while now so Derek won't have to do this for much longer, we are just desperate for some rain.............
Work calls, I need to put an order in. Bye for now xxxx
