The children have been on two weeks holiday here so Queenstown has been jumping. Now it is just full of skiers and snowboarders who are having to come off the slopes early due to poor visability and no snow, they can't make it up there if there is a plus sign on the temperature chart!
We didn't do much over the weekend either just popped over to Cromwell to have a few viewing over there, none of them were that good. They were having a fund raising day in town so it was busy for a change, a duck race on the little stream that goes through the middle of the mall which the children thought was wonderful. We did go to see Greg and Janette in their new and lovely house in Quail Rise and spent a few hours talking to them and having a drink. Then George, the estate agent from Arrowtown, rang to say the one we were after is being bought by people who will rent it out (Greg and Janette had told us they heard that the other night at a Lions 'do' so they were right and that makes us so mad when we wanted to make it our home!!!) but he sent us a 'wee cottage' on Nairn Street which looks lovely but think it is going to be way too small, pretty though. We have been looking at houses for a while now and the one we saw on Cornwall Street a few weeks ago was so good, we had even 'moved ourselves in' which is a big mistake we know but we were outbid and couldn't move quickly enough. Ho hum.
Megan had her 2nd birthday last week, she is changing so much and now we will not get to see them all for a while as on Saturday, Debs birthday, they are finally going to Canada after a lot of palaver over the last year. We are so pleased that they are going to have a new start in a new country, it is such a wonderful opportunity for them and they will be a great asset to their new chosen country.
Hopefully we will be able to visit them all again one day.
