Today I picked up Phoebe from home as Becky had the day off and decided to stay home to tidy the house so I took Phoebe over to Julie's once again as we were heading north into Dorset to go to Ben and Jess's to feed the cats and see if they were OK as they are away in Spain on her Dad's boat for a weeks' holiday.
Their cottage is in Tisbury near to Shaftsbury and I haven't been over there for years. The views are spectacular over there as the top photo of this blog shows, Dorset in all its' glory.
The roads were nice and clear and the drive is a nice one, Julie knows them well as she spent all of her 'courting' years in this area with Mike.
Tisbury is a lovely little village and they live on the outskirts of it in an old farmhouse so the next set of photos I hope will show it at its' best. The cats were pleased to see us and Pheobe loved them, especially Maggie - Jeff spent the whole time on their bed trying to avoid us as much as he could. I think they have settled in to their new home quite well!
From there we drove in to Shaftsbury for a walk around, found a lovely antiques market too but resisted buying anything, just got some sunflowers in the local green grocers for my girls and some fruit. I had forgotten how much I liked Shaftsbury, haven't been for ages and we had lunch in 'Gusto' there, yummy! We went down to Golden Hill too, it is so steep! Then walked up to the Abbey and admired the views.
Once more we had a lovely day, I need to take a day of rest one day I think but it is so nice to spend so much time with everyone and enjoyed England once more.
I spent the early part of the evening with Becky and Phoebe which was so nice, their garden looks lovely (Becky had done a great job in the house too) so we spent time out there and played Wii sports too which was fun. Another busy day planned for tomorrow catching up with friends and a promised time at a play park for Phoebe if the weather holds, swimming if it doesn't! Just want the hot sun to come back now, had enough of the clouds now as I need to top up my tan.
Thanks for looking - hope you are catching up with all this Derek during your quick trip to Auckland. Hope the trip goes well xxxx
