I found my old blog and 'archived' it all just to be on the safe side as it was in iWeb and that no longer exists. Eventually I may print it all and put it in a folder as it is my diary and letter home after all. But in the mean time I was intrigued to realise that I had forgotten the main reason I started it and that was to 'show' a project we were doing with Karen Leahy called "52 in 10" - a scrapbook challenge for every week in 2010. And what is worse, I didn't finish the whole project, think I missed about six of them.
And, would you believe, my blogs have gotten longer and longer!!! Does that mean I just go on a lot more or that I do more things now or just want to write about them all. And ....... what will happen to it all ........ and why do I care about it?
It is going to be one of those showery days again today, the locals are not enjoying this summer one bit but it is OK when the sun comes out and our grass is green again which is the bonus. Just wish it would rain in the evening instead but it is always glorious then.
We spoke to Julie and Kathy this morning which was lovely, Deb and the girls yesterday so it was lovely to say HI to everyone we could.
Saturday was gorgeous and very hot so we went for a walk down by the lake where it was cooler and then walked in to town to the dairy rather than the supermarket to get bread and milk. It's dangerous going in to supermarkets as you always come out with more than you went in for.
Our town centre has had a little face lift and they have put up walls to define the areas more and generally smarten the place up. It was full of tourists and they were all sat outside eating as we have lots of little cafes and a pub outside the Mall.
See what happens when we get lots of rain? I quilt!!! Well, there is only so much house work you can do, nearly everywhere is freshly decorated so as I can't sit and read during the day (I fall asleep) I have to keep busy somehow. The office work is only taking about an hour a week at the moment (Derek is off to Auckland next week for work) so I have to fill my days. Looking for a club to go to during the day too so am not sure what to try yet. Maybe I should start a new hobby!
Maybe it should be "what exciting thing can we have for lunch today?" Jeanette said this to us not long ago when she and Greg 'retired' which made us laugh but I know what she means now. I used to be able to go and choose something from one of the many delis in Queenstown but can't do that here. Derek would be happy with cheese and pickled onion sandwiches every day, it's me that is the problem. I just wish he liked eggs as it would give me more scope.
Take care everyone, love and miss you all lots xxxxxx
