After the 'Master Chef' event we went to in Queenstown last week I had been looking at the Jamie and Bec FB page and came across this photo with me in it!!
Anyway I really don't have much to say about last week, how sad is that.
A very Happy Birthday to Ella though who turned 7 on 23rd March, so glad you had a lovely day Ella and lots of lovely cakes xxx
Also Happy Birthday to Greg and Auntie Alma for the week before - the 15th - who share the same birth date.
I did do a few projects in the house as well as the garden. I finally finished choosing photos to go in a huge frame that is now hanging in our dining room. It took me hours to pick the photos and think it turned out OK.
I painted another wall in the old craft room too which had the pin board etc on it. It was full of pin holes from the photos the last homeowners had on this wall and took me three coats to cover it, looks better now though.
That is another job I am not looking forward to, swopping wardrobes around and putting away all my shorts and Tshirts that I have been living in since November. It is a good time to be ruthless and bag up all the things I haven't worn this year and take them to the op shop. My wardrobe has gone down by about half so that shouldn't be too hard this year. I will get a few T's and shorts which in the UK this summer as I hardly buy anything here. They do free shipping to NZ in M&S so maybe I should look at their site? ............. Maybe not!!
I have also been bouncing around on my pilates machine in a vain hope of getting a little weight off.
Derek set me up 'Pandora' on my computer too so have been listening to my own 'radio station these last few days too and have discovered some great artists I have never heard of before as well as old favourites. It is a nice way of listening to new music when you have started to 'skip over' your own stash. Go to http://www.pandora.com pick a few fav singers and go for it, it's free so why not and doesn't take up too much of your MegaByte's.
Oooh we watched 'Philomena' downloaded to rent from iTunes last night and what a good film that was. Judy Dench is always brilliant and it was very sad and funny, very touching and thought provoking. We both loved it so put on it your wish list too.
I finished reading 'The Book Thief' which was a brilliant book and would also like to see the film they have made of that too. Then I read 'Me before You' by Jojo Moyes which was another great book and had me crying my eyes out!! Great read honestly. An old 'crafty' friend Kerry, who is living in the Falklands at the moment, recommended 'The Light Between Oceans' so may see if I can download that and 'The Snow Child' which is one I have downloaded but not gotten round to reading yet. Lots of activity on my iTunes account this month then!!
Books cost of fortune here, just a normal paperback can be as much as £20, so if they do't have a copy in our local and very good libraries I download them instead.
So I have some cards to make so better get on with those too. Don't think I can get much more on my craft room shelves at the moment and my material cupboard is bursting at the seams so just need some inspiration for the next thing to do. I have enough batting and material to do 3 full sized quilts so will trawl through patterns and Utube sites to find some I like more than others - picking just a few is easier said than done for me, I like too many of them x
HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY
That's all for now, will try to be more 'active' over the next few days or I'll bore you to death!!!
Take care everyone - big hugs for all of you and TTFN xxxxxxxxxxxxx
