Where? We don't know!!!! When, who knows! Everything is so up in the air.
It's a work related thing or lack of it. We only needed eighteen more months until retirement which is a shame but we have to deal with it and the best way was to sell the house to give us the flexibility we need.
We shall be so sad to leave this lovely place we now call home. It took me a long time to 'settle in' but I got there in the end and this house is so nice, it just gives you a big hug. Our only regret on leaving here is that we couldn't share it with any of the family, we would have loved to have shown everyone round and for you all to enjoy this lovely place we live in. We shall sorely miss the lovely neighbours we have, the town that we have grown to love with it's mountains and lakes, the people and indeed the whole of the South Island. We may have to go north yet, who knows?
So watch this space !!!!

We are keeping up with the housework really well and the house has been immaculate for the last five weeks which has given me time to do other things. I think we have just about revamped every garden bed, all the summer planting is out and autumn stuff in. I have taken so many cuttings and they have all taken so the new lady's garden will be full of penstemons and lavender; I have scattered hundreds of seeds and the cornflowers, lavetera and love in the mist are coming up already!! All the 'bed' edges have been done, the grass mowed to perfection and now Autumn.
So I got side tracked.
I was saying about having extra time so I have been quilting again too. My Jacquelynne Steves BOM project is now finished and I am very pleased with it, my first appliqué quilt.
I also have had a 'picnic' patchwork on the go for quite a while now. Every time I make a new quilt I get lots of bits and pieces of material so decided rather than just looking at them or throwing them away I would crazy patchwork them. I had gotten up to twelve squares the other day so pieced some of them together and this is the result.
I also picked up some 'fat eights' while we were away in QLD that were a bit different for me and only $10 for the pack and with a pattern that the lovely lady in the shop gave me I made this.
We have been out and about too over the last week and went over to Alexandria last Monday to get some big plastic boxes to put stuff in. They are on offer at the mo and you can never have too many of those can you Mike?
We decided to have a walk too so went over the wobbly bridge with the idea of going to the cafe on the other side of the river for a coffee but Monday is the only day it closes. Oh well, will know next time.
We also popped over to one of the fruit stalls the other day. They are all locally and family owned businesses so it is so nice to support them and this one seems to be a local favourite mainly because it is not built to temp the bus loads of people that come through and stop at the bigger stalls. We go here to Webbs because it is smaller so not so commercial, the fruit is usually cheaper and so good. You can taste before you buy and for nectarines at less than 1.50 GBP for a kilo the price isn't bad either. They have nectarines, apricots, apples and pears at the mo, the peaches and cherries have finished so I have some in the freezer.
Saturday was glorious and sunny so we headed off to Wanaka where it was a little cooler about 22 degs rather that the hot wind and 27 degrees of Cromwell. Have I said before that we really love Wanaka? I think I must have.
We drove passed the airport and were just passing by as a load of parachutists were coming in. My goodness they come in fast and they were all ecstatic to land, high fiving each other and lots of hugs all round - I think my reaction would be the same but you wouldn't get me to do that in the first place!!
We parked up by the info centre as usual and walked to the right this time to the marina and on to the reserve.
We had a great walk - my big toes are still a problem and I never feel like I am walking straight any more but maybe I didn't in the first place!!! My feet do ache after a long walk but it is good to keep them moving.
We went as far as Bremner Bay, just a few miles and there was a newly married couple there having photos taken with the magnificent back drop of the Mount Aspiring National Park. Shame the tide was out but then we wouldn't have been able to walk out on to the lake bed.
I cut out 320 half square triangles for a new project the other day and joined them altogether to make 160 'squares' so will let you know what I am doing with them when I know too!
Take care everyone, be safe, keep warm and look forward to Spring xx
