Things are changing in the Baker household once more; can't go in to too many details as don't want to jinx anything but the business may be turning a corner. Will tell you next week when we know more.
So it's my day off. What to do? I have finished making most of the Christmas presents that I am sending and won't be sending out many more. I posted four cards and two parcels yesterday for the tidy sum of $53 or around £27 to you and me. I could have bought more presents with that so it is a little silly to spend so much money on postage. I have another two to go yet and more cards so what the heck!! I have to go to the shops to get milk and essential stuff and want to go before it gets much hotter. I was watering the garden at 8 am too. (And after being on Skype to Julie realised I had left the front tap on and we now have a bog garden out there and a pretty big water bill on its' way! Sorry Derek!!!) The smell of the roses and jasmine at that time of the morning was just wonderful.
We will be painting the side of the house this Sunday if the weather stays good and we have only done the bits you can see from the road so far!! Derek finished off the second coat on the stairwell in the hallway on Saturday while I made the Christmas cake. All looks nice and fresh out there now. I did a Delia one and it seems OK. How are you supposed to tell after four hours in the oven!
The racing was on at the show grounds again this weekend but we had forgotten about it so didn't go :( So no gambling this Christmas then and as we always spend more than we win it is not a bad thing. They have got a trotting event soon so maybe we will go to that instead.
We did walk down to the old town to go to the Market though and walked the long way round the lake on the way home for some more exercise.
An eventful week had by all too it seems and it is snowing hard in Canada on top of all of that. Hope you had a good time with all the family Clare and a safe journey home.
Take care everyone of yourselves and each other; our thoughts are with Auntie Alma and family at this sad time too.
