We had a picnic and I had brought a big bag of toys so we played horseshoes, ball etc and Phoebe is definitely getting an eye for the ball which is great and she enjoys playing with us so much. Tiddler fishing with Mummy was a great hit then she found some little girls to play with and was gone for an hour with them by the river which actually had some water in it for the first time I have seen in ages. There were lots of families here enjoying the day, riders on their horses and people out walking there dogs, everyone loving these longs lazy summer days which have been so nice, I have been very lucky with the weather and not had to stay in one day really, such a bonus when you have so many lovely places to go. We came home about 6ish and Phoebe slept nearly the whole way so we must have tired her out just a little!!
Well that's another week gone and I've been here four weeks now - it's going too quickly! But the weather has been great and I have done so much and seen so many people I love which is so good. And the worst thing is that Derek is alone and not feeling well which makes me feel awful. Get well soon xxx It's been a busy week here again. Saturday started off with me at Sainsburys very early in the morning as I was making lunch for 10, just tapas, salad, garlic bread and a big bowl of fresh strawberries, raspberries and blueberries, yum. My Auntie Brenda arrived from Yorkshire to stay with Mum for a week and was brought down by my cousin Andy and his wife Lynne. We never get to see each other any more so it was lovely to spend time with them even if for only a few hours. We were all very close as children and spent many summers together so it was nice to catch up with all their news. After Becky had helped me clear up I got changed and dashed over to Julie's so that Mike could take us all up to Tisbury, including Daniel, to pick up Ben and Jess and with a full car, drive up to Bathford near Bath of course, to spend the evening at his brother Nick and Ken's house there. What a gorgeous house they live in, full of beautiful furniture and so well decorated. Nick is a great cook and we had a fantastic meal, great wine and great company. It was nice to get to know Ken well too, they are great hosts and love to entertain and it shows. They made us all feel so welcome and it was the first time they had met Jess too; thank you gentlemen for a really good night out - home around 2.30am!! Sunday was glorious again so Becky and Phoebe came over just before lunch, we packed a picnic and headed out to Linford Bottom; this place holds so many memories for us all. We went there as children with our parents, I took my girls, we had picnics there with friends and now I am taking my grandchild so it holds real history of lovely lazy days fishing for tiddlers and playing games on the fields there. We had a picnic and I had brought a big bag of toys so we played horseshoes, ball etc and Phoebe is definitely getting an eye for the ball which is great and she enjoys playing with us so much. We came home about 6ish and Phoebe slept nearly the whole way so we must have tired her out just a little!! Monday we went to the beach for the day, a little further down this time with a nicer place to go in to the sea. We were at Fisherman's Walk and the sea was so warm we all went in. Julie even managed to read some of her book and again Phoebe found lots of children to play with for hours and hours. She just loves to play. One of the girls even tried to teach her how to swim! We have been swimming several times this week at Littledown and she is now swimming on her back and floating, diving under the water with the aid of goggles and really loving being in the water (we are going again this week). We had about six hours on the beach so got a good tan too. And that was just the beginning of this busy week! Thanks for looking x
