So as it comes to a close we are wondering what next year will bring and it will be another year of change I am sure. We already have little jaunts booked to the North Island and Australia (Noosa which is up near Brisbane) and have tickets back to Canada and the UK so ......... watch this space.
Our highlight of the week was going to the cinema and having dinner out last Thursday. We went over to Clyde, had a very good pizza with sides of steak fries and salad then into the cinema with our ciders.
I also started a project from a Kaffe Fassett book that Derek bought me for my birthday this year. I love his materials but can't afford them so had lots of batiks and bought more at the local Craft Shop as they were selling 22x18" pieces for $1 this week (I think I bought her out!). So I spread everything out on the floor and moved everything about for a day then started cutting. The pattern is by Roberta Horton and is quite simple, only three pieces to a block so a 6 1/2" square, a 3 1/2" x 6 1/2" rectangle and a 3 1/2" x 9 1/2 rectangle and that's it but by gum, is it effective.
Hope it is OK to 'blog' this photo - if it isn't let me know and I will take it off but just wanted to show the comparison.
Anyway we have finished laying the new floor in the main bathroom, I helped yesterday with the whole cork tiles and Derek did all the fiddly bits and has done a great job.
Today it is boiling hot. Just been talking to Paddy over the fence and he has been mowing his lawn, he is off for a nap. But the flowers are having their last hurrah before fading back in a week or so and I haven't got much coming in to replace them as the dahlias are all early too.
As I said before have a wonderful Christmas everybody. We shall be thinking of you tucking in to your Christmas dinners while we are sat on the beach at Riverton with our picnic.
TTFN love you xxxxxx
