That's the trouble when you do nice things like look at old photos of yourself. I have put on a stone since I came to New Zealand - I know that's in nearly three years but it is still not good and if I continue to put on a stone every three years - eeeeeek!
Derek wants to do it too as he has put on half a stone since I started feeding him again after being apart for 11 weeks and although he is grateful that I have taken over the cooking again, his waist line isn't. I bake when I'm bored that is the trouble; it's lucky that I am not bored a lot although Coleen says just bring it in to the offices and the Sothebys lot will eat it!
So it starts today with portion control and will power and activating the Wii again. I weighed myself then did half an hour of the aerobic steps which was fun. We are also counting steps on our phones so have to have it glued to me now so that we do a minimum of 5,000 steps a day - it burns about 250 calories so breakfast is burnt off more or less.
Oh I hate diets cos all you think about is food and that's all you talk about too!
So, change of subject ..................
We rescued a duck yesterday who decided it would be an OK thing to go wandering down the middle of Shotover Street, the main road in Queenstown. Or rather I asked Derek too!!! The lady from the bakery said and I quote - "She never goes in to the road" but she did and stopped the traffic much to people's amusement. Luckily there wasn't too many people about at 8 a.m. and the duck didn't seem to care anyway. Derek coaxed her to the middle of the roundabout then by the time we had got up to the office where we can see the roundabout from the window, she had flown off!
Life is full of coincidences and the world is remarkably small. Every week when I am chatting to customers we find 'coincidences'. We had a nice young man in this week who has been here for over a year and is from Hemel Hempstead where Derek's children live and lived.
I am getting quite a collection now and could do with having a craft stall if I can work up the courage to do it.
Well, I had better get on now. The house is clean and tidy because I did it all on Wednesday, just have a very small pile of ironing to do so it's not worth getting the board etc. out yet.
We have a long weekend to look forward to as it is Labour Day on Monday. Derek has been really tired this week after four weeks of back to back training and lots of traveling so he needs the extra day. No lie in tomorrow though, sorry!!!
TTFN, thank you so much for reading my blog, my letter home to you all. Lots of love xxxxxx and take care of each other. xx
