And tomatoes have to be the subject of the day, these are mine from the haul this morning!
While I was talking to Mum this morning my neighbour, Paddy, called me over to give me some tomatoes and he had a quick chat to Mum too! I didn't have the heart to tell him I don't need any but they are stewing down to make the sauce for the chilli at the moment so they were welcome in the end anyway. I have grown some little bonnet chillies and put one in and by eck, it's hot!! Good to speak to you Mum and you too Kathy.
I also had a delivery of wood from Joffy another of our neighbours and he helped me stack it in the garage which was nice of him. Derek went over to see him at the weekend whilst Ferg (we went to his Xmas party) was emptying a truck load into his garage so we now have 4 metres of Old Man Pine ready to burn. For the price of a 24 pack of beer, he will help Derek cut up the tree we took down too as that needs to be split so that it can dry out for winter before we can burn it.
Also on the way to work on these beautiful still and sunny mornings, the balloonists have been out and try as I may while driving along, I have been trying to take a decent photo with my iPhone4 but all I got was this!
Tuesday evening we were both falling asleep in the heat after dinner so we went out for a walk at 7.30pm and it was lovely. We walked along the golf course then down Lakeside Avenue where all the posh houses are oohing and aahing as we went, down to the lake, back up round the rugby fields and home. 3.5 miles in just on an hour and burnt 335 calories so not bad really. It kept us awake anyway and we are going to do the same tonight - I feel sleepy already!!! The light was lovely so Derek posed while I took the photo!
I've just been walking round the garden before I have to knuckle down so will show you some more of the garden as it is this week.
Oh well, I'll be back soon. TTFN, take care and big hugs xx
