Today started off a little cloudy, we had rain overnight, and we were told by one of the neighbours that water bills are high here so selective planting and watering is a good idea so need to re-think this garden and put in lots of drought tolerant plants; lavender, rosemary, grasses etc which will look pretty and just have tubs full of flowers instead. You live and learn. So we have to try and capture as much rain water as we can in this desert area which is no mean feat in itself.
Changing the subject, we bought a print by a young artist here called Emma Butler (originally from the north of England) who does these lovely paintings and has a series with a creation of hers called 'Ruby'. I fell in love with the these so we got a print from the website and mounted it ourselves this morning - they wanted way too much to do it at the shops - and have put it in the dining room.
It is going to be one of those days today where it can't make up its' mind what to do but it is warm.
We are going to go over to Clyde either today or tomorrow for a walk around. We have been to the dam there a few times (it's on a big fault line there which is a little worrying for the folks of the town nestling below it!) and it is supposed to be very pretty so will take my camera.
We found out from a real estate agent friend of ours the other day that the actor Sam Neil lives just out of town there and has his 'Two Paddocks' Winery on the back road which is a great spot - it is on the back road from Clyde to Alexandra.
Derek is 'waterproofing' the shower in the main bathroom at the mo, well putting a new layer of that white stuff on it, as they had trouble with the shower in there before. We have also taken down the horrid blinds that were in the kitchen window which the last owners admitted they never used cos they were awful (why didn't they take them down then?) so will eventually go shopping for replacements for them, badly needed at that window as it is like a greenhouse in there.
Anyway on that note, will leave you with some more photos and say bye for now, take care and love each other x
